Buggy Accident
What an evening. I went into work early so that I could get home a little early and get a few things done. On the way home, I am traveling along, there was this small red pick up in front of me. He wasn't going very fast just a steady pace. Just as we topped the one knob you could see that there was an amish buggy traveling in front of us up ahead about 1000 feet. The pick up proceeded near the buggy and I stayed some distance behind. I looked ahead to see the pick up creep up on the buggy and it seemed to turn to the left slightly as if he was going to pass the buggy. He didn't, he run right into the back left wheel of the buggy making a loud crashing noise that I could hear with the windows up, a/c on and radio on low. The buggy was destroyed. There were three amish fellows in the buggy that were sent sailing a short distance out of the buggy and the horse headed for home. Fortunately, none of them were hurt seriously. Minor scrapes on two of them and the older gentleman was seeking medical attention for neck problems. An experience that I hope not to see again anytime soon. That buggy just crumbled. We called for the police and for someone to come pick up the buggy pieces. I don't know what I thought they were made of but it isn't anything that holds together in an accident. The fellow that hit them turned out to be an elderly gentleman that probably shouldn't be driving. He wasn't even sure how he hit them. Bad situation but glad no one got hurt. I didn't even think to get a few pictures, I had my camera with me. It was a pile of wood and fabric. For those of you who think there isn't any excitement back here, think again.

Wow! What an interesting story. It could have been quite a disaster. Glad it nobody was killed! I wish you could have gotten a few pics. :)
WHEW...glad you weren't following on the bumper of the truck...the old guy probably just didn't think he was that close...that was a big excitement for those hills...
Only in PA! :) We will let you slide this once without the pics, but next time we expect to have pics of the buggy, the 3 Amish guys giving you a thumbs up and the old man without his teeth smiling! :)
